3 people die in Ohio plane crash

A plane that took off from Sullivan County Airport crashes leaving three people dead.
According to Holmes County, Ohio Coroner Dr. Robert Anthony, Phillip Hatfield, 48, and Tracy Custer, 38, both perished in the crash. The third person has not yet been indentified, pending family notification.
According to Dr. Anthony, both Hatfeld and Custer are both from the Terre Haute area.
The manager of the Sullivan County Airport said a Piper Apache Twin Engine Plane, registered to Hatfield, took off from the airport Monday morning.
After failing to show up at its destination of Steubenville, Ohio, the plane was reported missing. It was located Tuesday by authorities in Holmes County, Ohio. All three passengers died.
The Sullivan County Airport manager said the news was heartbreaking, adding these are the first fatalities linked to the airport since it opened in 1966.
The crash is being investigated by the Holmes County Sheriffs Department in Ohio.

As federal investigators continued to comb through a field of wreckage, Air Methods Corp. released new details concerning the LifeNet helicopter crash that killed four individuals Friday night. The medical helicopter was low on fuel at the time of the crash, but officials said it could be some time before the exact cause is known.
