A Franklin County jury found that a midwife improperly handled a delivery which had been complicated by a shoulder dystocia, a birth complication where the baby’s shoulders get stuck during delivery. Specifically, the jury found that the delivering midwife used excessive force while moving the baby free in the delivery, resulting in Erb’s Palsy for the child.
