Placental Abruption and Birth Injury
A placental abruption occurs when the placenta separates from the uterine wall. This poses a great risk for the mother and the child and can lead to cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy, a birth injury also referred to as CP, is a term used to describe a group of chronic conditions effecting body movement and muscle coordination. It is caused by damage to one or more areas of the brain usually occurring during fetal development; perinatally, i.e., before, during, or shortly after birth; or during infancy.
The video demonstrates placental abruption and several causes.
