The Ohio Car Accident Lawyers with Nurenberg, Paris, Heller & McCarty explain that while most motorists are aware of the dangers drinking and driving poses, it is a behavior that many continue to engage in. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that if all 17 million motorists who admit to driving drunk had their own state, it would be the fifth largest in the nation.

One man is hoping to put an end to such accidents by releasing a YouTube video that contains a confession to killing a 61-year-old man in a motor vehicle collision that was caused by the poster’s intoxication.

During the course of the three and a half minute video, the man admits to drinking heavily on the night of June 22, 2013. He states that he was bar hopping with friends when he ended up driving the wrong way on an interstate and struck a vehicle being operated by the victim.

The man goes on to state that when he is prosecuted, he will take “full responsibility” for his actions and any punishment he is given. He then states he just wants the message heard that he is “begging” motorists not to drink and drive and that it is not too late to prevent a fatal drunk driving accident.

The law firm’s team of Ohio Personal Injury Lawyers hopes the man’s message will serve as a warning to others to never get behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated.
