Harvey Pekar’s fans know him for his body of work in comic books. Movie buffs know him as the subject of the 2003 film about his life American Splendor.

However, the Ohio native has died after a Cleveland drug injury. According to WOIO, the artist died after accidentally overdosing on Prozac and a smoking cessation drug, leading to the Cleveland drug injury that ended his life.

At the time of the Cleveland drug injury and death, Pekar was 70.
