The decedent came under the medical care and treatment of the Defendants for routine medical treatment. On the days preceding death, the decedent experienced chest pain. The decedent was evaluated by an emergency room physician and transferred to another hospital. An EKG was done by EMS in transport to the local hospital and the results were abnormal. The abnormal EKG was not reviewed by the local hospital and the decedent was diagnosed with Gerds, later dying of a heart attack.
