About NP4CLE Charity of the Month

We are excited to announce Business Volunteers Unlimited will be our September NP4CLE charity partner! BVU connects businesses and individuals to a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities serving Northeast Ohio nonprofits, from team projects to board service.

We are excited to announce Argonaut will be our August NP4CLE charity partner! Argonaut is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded by D. Andrew Ferguson and Douglas McConnell in 2010. Recognizing the workforce shortages and a lack of diversity in the aerospace and maritime industries, Ferguson and McConnell created a combined business/education model that incorporates a project-based learning environment and real-life experiences for high school-aged youth in the city of Cleveland.

Argonaut’s goal is to engage young people in high-quality educational experiences, increase the number of youths who enter careers in the fields of aerospace and maritime, and increase the number of youths who successfully attain financial independence in adulthood through education and employment.

We are excited to announce Advantage Cleveland: Tennis & Education is our July NP4CLE charity partner! Advantage Cleveland: Tennis & Education provides Cleveland’s youth with tennis, wellness, fitness, literacy, STEM and creative expression programs to promote hope, healthy living and productive futures.

We are excited to announce The Foundry will be our June NP4CLE charity partner! The Foundry provides rowing and sailing programs to students by removing financial and experiential barriers. Engaging youth in the sports of rowing and sailing helps to promote health and fitness; supports development of non-cognitive skills such as teamwork, communication, and perseverance; exposes students to scholarship and career opportunities; and provides access to two of our region’s most valuable natural assets: Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River.

We are excited to announce that College Now Greater Cleveland will be our May NP4CLE charity partner! College Now helps students in middle and high school as well as adult learners plan for and enroll in the postsecondary education program they need to achieve the career they want. College Now provides college access advising, financial aid counseling and scholarship and retention services to 33,000 people each year.

We are excited to announce The Caring Corral will be our April NP4CLE charity partner! The Caring Corral is a non-profit therapeutic farm providing unique equestrian services that will promote, strengthen, and develop long-term goals. They focus on therapeutic benefits of equine assisted activities.

We are excited to announce Empowering Epilepsy will be our March’s NP4CLE charity partner! Empowering Epilepsy was founded in 2014 by people in Cleveland, Ohio directly affected by epilepsy and their families. While looking for support, many people with epilepsy found limited resources and help outside of their neurologist’s office. Empowering Epilepsy’s goal is to create and maintain a caring community that empowers people with epilepsy and their families to proactively manage their seizures and take charge of their lives.

We are excited to announce Community of Hope will be our first NP4CLE charity partner of the year! Community of Hope is building a bridge between the foster system and a thriving adulthood. Their mission is to build lasting relationships, nurture hope, and restore dignity by creating family-like relationships for Ohio’s youth.

We are excited to announce Family Promise of Greater Cleveland will be our NP4CLE charity partner! Family Promise is a family homeless shelter located in Cleveland’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood that serves approximately 75 families a year and has a special focus on serving families headed by young parents, ages 18-25 years old. Its main goal is to help Greater Cleveland’s young homeless families find housing and a source of income as quickly as possible; to assist them in acquiring the skills and services needed to become self-sufficient; and to prevent a return to homelessness.

We are excited to announce A Kid at Art for the Heart will be our NP4CLE charity partner! A Kid at Art for the Heart is a 501c (3) non-profit organization offering innovative, community-responsive art education to underserved and disadvantaged preschool children.

We are excited to announce Intervention for Peace will be our August NP4CLE charity partner! Intervention for Peace partners with local media businesses to offer gainful employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. They’re focus on integrating individuals into their community by teaching valuable skill sets and providing opportunities for social interaction while empowering them to learn and grow.

North Coast Community Homes is a non-profit organization working to provide resources for stable, safe, and supportive quality housing for people with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

We are excited to announce Queen IAM will be our May NP4CLE charity partner of the month! Queen IAM empowers, enriches, and educates young ladies everywhere. Queen IAM was created to promote and encourage self-love, self-respect and self-understanding.

We are excited to announce Daily Dose of Reading will be our April NP4CLE charity partner of the month! Since its founding in 1999 by Dr. Shelly Senders, Daily Dose of Reading (DDR) has been dedicated to improving childhood literacy. We understand that all social progress begins with educations, and education begins with reading. Higher literacy improves health, education, equality, the overall economy, and has recently been correlated with lower infant mortality and increased empathy.

We are excited to announce The Superhero Project will be our first NP4CLE charity partner of the month to kick off the new year! Launched in 2017, The Superhero Project interviews kids and teens with serious illnesses, disabilities, and complex mental health and physical medical needs about who they are beyond their diagnosis and how they want to make a positive difference in the world.

The storytelling collaboration continues when artists design the superhero alter egos the children have described, creating a visual representation of their strength, courage, and resilience. Families receive inspiring posters of their superheroes to treasure forever.

We are excited to announce Integrated Community Solutions will be our NP4CLE charity partner of the month! Integrated Community Solutions (ICS) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization located in Northeast Ohio that provides social and educational programming for people with developmental disabilities (DD). Also, they are in the process of designing a residential community that will offer home ownership in individuals with DD.

We are excited to announce Community Service Alliance will be our NP4CLE charity partner of the month! The mission of Community Service Alliance is to be a catalyst for lasting relationships between people emerging out of homelessness and people willing to participate in their transformation.

They accomplish this mission by providing affordable, short-term housing and support for independent housing; developing local employment opportunities and work experience; and providing training and development that fosters personal, behavioral, and spiritual growth and enrichment.

We are excited to announce Minds Matter Cleveland will be our NP4CLE charity partner of the month! Minds Matter Cleveland connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. They strive to equip high school students with the tools to gain acceptance to a four-year university and navigate the financial aid process. Through these efforts, they are helping students develop as individuals. Introducing them to a world of opportunity outside their neighborhoods and comfort zones. Students are more confident of their abilities, and are eager to succeed. Minds Matter works with motivated students because we believe that no student dedicated to earning a college education should be limited by socioeconomic status.

We are excited to announce the Kidney Foundation of Ohio will be our NP4CLE charity partner of the month! Kidney Foundation of Ohio is dedicated to providing a broad-based program of direct assistance to those with kidney disease and promoting and providing educational programming for the public, renal professionals, and patients and their families. It’s their goal that all people with renal disease or transplant recipients will be accepted in the community and have a measurably improved quality of life and function as a result of the services provided by the Kidney Foundation of Ohio.

We are excited to announce 1,000 Ties will be our first NP4CLE charity partner of the month to kick off the new year! 1,000 Ties enhances the quality of life for youth by teaching them skills they can use for a lifetime. With the help of men from the community young men ages 10-19 in high poverty rate cities will learn these skills. They will develop their confidence so that they can interview, network, and break the cycle of generational poverty starting with something as simple as a tie.

We are excited to announce First Year Cleveland will be our November NP4CLE charity partner! For more than five decades, Cuyahoga County has had one of the highest infant death rates in the country. In 2015, the county was the second worst of 88 counties in Ohio. Among 100 US cities with the highest number of preterm births, Cleveland’s premature birth rate was the worst. First Year Cleveland (FYC) is a community movement dedicated to reversing this trend and helping all babies celebrate their firsts birthdays.

Our firm is proud to support Help Me Color A Rainbow as our charity partner for the month of September. Help Me Color A Rainbow is a non-profit organization that collects crayons and coloring books with the goal of supplying 1,000 boxes of crayons to every children’s hospital in the United States and 5,000 boxes of crayons to St. Jude. This July, our firm is thrilled to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Greater Cleveland. We’re excited to announce that Hope for Kids Geauga is our charity partner for the month of June. This includes paying for camps, tutoring, sports, yearbooks, music lessons, and more to bring hope back into the lives of children. Our firm is proud to announce that we will be supporting the Colors+ Youth Center for the month of April as our charity partner. Colors+ mission is to strengthen LGBTQ+ youth and allies by promoting individual and community wellness. Their intention is to strengthen the LGBTQ+ youth community and allies through advocacy, support, education, and celebration. This February, we’re thrilled to support the Greater Ohio Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America. This non-profit health organization utilizes volunteers to raise money for local lupus research projects and to improve the quality of life for all people affected by this disease through research, education, and advocacy programs. This October and November, we’re proud to support the Greater Cleveland Fisher House. This charitable organization builds comfort homes on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers to allow family members to be close to their loved ones when they’re hospitalized for illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Fisher House currently provides two homes in Cleveland, each with 16 guest suites, for families of patients receiving treatment in the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. You can help us support this organization and Ohio veterans by taking part in our November Veterans Day Giveaway.

This September, we’re honored to support United Way of Greater Cleveland. United Way is a nonprofit with nearly 1,200 offices across the U.S. This organization is devoted to resolving educational, income, and health-related issues in communities through partnering with schools, government agencies, businesses, community organizations, and more. Rather than supporting United Way of Greater Cleveland via our Facebook page, this month we’re raising money with several office challenges.

This August, we’re excited to support Coleman Professional Services as our Charity of the Month. This Ohio-based non-profit organization offers programs and services to improve the lives of people with mental and physical disabilities, including 24/7 walk-in and telephone crisis services, safe and affordable community housing, behavioral health and addiction recovery services, and more. For every “Like” we get on Facebook this month, we’ll donate $2 to Coleman Professional Services.

This July, we’re proud to support Hope Over Heroin as our Charity of the Month. This Ohio-based non-profit ministry leads outreach rallies in cities that have been particularly impacted by the opioid epidemic with the goal of providing hope and support to those affected. Hope Over Heroin rallies unite addiction service providers with local leaders from churches, businesses, schools, and medical centers in their community to better serve each person seeking help for addiction. This June, we’re excited to support Alive On Purpose as our Charity of the Month. This nonprofit organization provides suicide prevention support, resources, and education to affected youth. This May, we’re excited to sponsor Cornerstone of Hope as our Charity of the Month. With offices in Cleveland and Columbus, this bereavement care facility offers support, counseling, resources, and education for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Unlike many other support groups and facilities, Cornerstone of Hope is open six days a week and provides support to families and individuals of all ages when they need it most. We’re thrilled to sponsor BigHearted Blooms as our April Charity of the Month. With the help of volunteers, this Cleveland-based organization collects and repurposes flowers to create beautiful new bouquets that can be enjoyed anew. They then deliver those bouquets to people who deserve joy and an emotional lift, including individuals in care facilities, assisted living homes, and hospitals. We’re pleased to sponsor Foluké Cultural Arts Center, Inc. as our March Charity of the Month. This Cleveland-based nonprofit organization helps at-risk children and youth build self-esteem, discipline, and a drive for excellence by providing opportunities in dance, drama, and vocal training. It also provides professional performance opportunities for program participants while cultivating an appreciation for cultural and ethnic diversity. This January, we’re proud to sponsor Special Spaces Cleveland as our NP4CLE  Charity of the Month! This 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designs dream bedroom makeovers for children facing serious and often life-threatening health problems at no cost to their families. Averaging around $4,000 per room, Special Spaces transforms these bedrooms into spaces where kids can find rest and healing in the midst of their illnesses. This November, we’re excited to announce the International Women’s Air & Space Museum as our NP4CLE Charity of the Month. Located in the terminal of Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, the museum showcases all of the women who contributed to the history of aviation and aerospace. While Sally Ride and Amelia Earhart are household names, the museum pays tribute to the many other women who played significant roles throughout the history of air and space. For every “Like” we get on Facebook during November, we’ll donate $2 to the International Women’s Air & Space Museum.

We’re thrilled to feature Open Doors Academy as our October Charity of the Month. The Cleveland-based nonprofit serves middle and high school students and their families through educational programs, summer camps, volunteer opportunities, and other efforts to help end the cycle of poverty. Open Doors Academy serves more than 550 middle and high school students and 1,300 parents and siblings throughout the Greater Cleveland area. This September, we’re excited to feature United Way of Greater Cleveland’s 211 Help Center as our Charity of the Month. The 211 Help Center provides Ohio residents in need with 24/7 access to referral specialists who can help connect them with resources. The hotline helps people in 26 counties in Ohio find solutions to a variety of needs, such as food, heat, shelter, prescription assistance, health insurance enrollment, tax services, and services specifically for veterans. This August, we’re supporting Seeds of Literacy as our Charity of the Month. The non-profit organization offers free basic education and GED^®, TASC^®, and HiSET^® preparation courses to adults in the Cleveland area. With a mission to provide personalized education that empowers adults, Seeds of Literacy offers one-on-one tutoring, an individualized digital literacy curriculum, flexible class schedules, and year-round enrollment. We’re excited to announce Fostering Hope as our July Charity of the Month. The non-profit organization was founded in 2013 with a mission to enrich the lives of foster children and foster youth in Northeast Ohio through programs in community involvement, childhood experiences, and health and wellness. Individuals within the foster care system often face unique challenges and miss out on experiences that most kids take for granted. Fostering Hope works to make sure foster children have opportunities for uplifting experiences during difficult times. This June, we’re supporting the Transplant House of Cleveland as our Charity of the Month. The 501 (c)(3) organization provides temporary housing for organ transplant patients and their families. Not all medical centers have transplant programs, and many families must travel to get their loved ones the care they need. The Transplant House of Cleveland helps to eliminate some of the burden that comes with relocating for medical treatment by providing safe, affordable housing options and a supportive community of volunteers. This May, we’re excited to feature the Rainey Institute as our Charity of the Month. Serving more than 2,000 young people every year, the Rainey Institute offers programs in visual and performing arts to help kids and young adults in the Greater Cleveland area develop artistic and leadership skills. We’re excited to feature The Miracle League of Lake County as our April charity partner. The Miracle League is a national organization that believes all children deserve the opportunity to play baseball, regardless of their abilities. By designing custom fields and parks to accommodate a variety of disabilities, The Miracle League strives to include everyone in one of America’s favorite pastimes. For every “Like” we get on Facebook this month, we’ll donate $2 to The Miracle League of Lake County.

This March, we’re excited to feature Cover2 Resources as our Charity of the Month. After tragically losing his son to a heroin overdose, Greg McNeil started Cover2 Resources to raise awareness about the opioid epidemic and provide resources to those affected by it. The nonprofit organization is on a mission to aid both addicts and their families by connecting them with resources, including medical care and spiritual support. They also provide educational programs to help raise awareness about the epidemic. For every “Like” we get on Facebook this month, we’ll donate $2 to Cover2 Resources.

This February, we’re supporting The Public Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) Ohio as our Charity of the Month. Since 1976, the Cleveland-based nonprofit has rescued stray or abused dogs and cats and placed them in foster homes. In addition to providing medical treatment for their animals, PAWS also influences animal welfare legislation. For every “Like” we get on Facebook this month, we’ll donate $2 to PAWS Ohio.
