The victim, a 20-year-old woman survived by her parents and three siblings, died in head-on collision returning home from Operation Desert Storm.
The decedent was deployed to Saudi Arabia as a combat flight surgeon during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. In March, she returned to the United States as a war veteran. She received a National Defense Service Medal for her service in the Gulf War. In June, the decedent was returning from a fellow veteran’s funeral when a driver hit her car head-on. The other vehicle was driving south-bound when his vehicle swerved into the north-bound lane and struck the decedent’s car. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
