Workplace accidents present a very serious threat to workers in a variety of
dangerous jobs across Ohio. One of the best ways to prevent work injuries and accidents is to create a culture of job site safety. To help accomplish this goal, the state is holding a safety innovation competition. According to the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the
Safety Innovations Competition recognizes businesses that have successfully developed new ways to prevent workplace accidents. These innovations can come in the form of tools, techniques, policies, or procedures that enhance workplace safety. Judges will examine each entry on five different criteria, including:
- Risk reduction
- Innovation
- Cost savings
- Potential impact
- Presentation
Big payoffs are at stake for those who accept the challenge. First place in the event can take home as much as $6,000, while the runner-up can receive as much as $4,000. Final decisions will be announced at the Ohio Safety Congress & Expo held March 9-11, 2016. At Nurenberg, Paris, Heller & McCarthy, we believe in promoting a healthy and safe work environment for all workers. That’s why our
Ohio workers’ compensation attorneys are so excited to see the cutting-edge ideas that will be presented in March!
