Plaintiff was a passenger on board an Embraer 120 Turboprop aircraft operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines (Delta Commuter). While in cruise flight, there was a violent separation of one of the left engine propellers due to fatigue failure which consequently resulted in loss of the No. 1 engine. The crew attempted to make an emergency landing during which time the aircraft crashed in a farm near Carrolton, Georgia resulting in complete breakup and destruction of the aircraft by fire and the death of numerous passengers. Plaintiff sustained Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, deep laceration on left hand.
